I purchased this record (listen here) when I was in the 6th grade and over the years it has never lost my interest and has probably received more listens than any other record in my collection. If you have never listened to the early records of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, I would definitely suggest a listen. What impresses me most about these early records is the production (Gus Dudgeon) and the arrangements (Paul Buckmaster). The use of instruments beyond the usual rock standards is extensive yet never overdone or messy. The songwriting is at is best on these records and the music is varied and interesting. While all the records through Honkey Chateau are excellent, I have always felt Tumbleweed connection was the high water mark.
