BATH OILS (relaxation and skin rejuvenation)
The skin is the body's largest organ and protects the body from injury and loss of fluid. Apart from aiding in the regulation of body temperature, and being a barrier against noxious agents such as microorganisms, it is an elimination organ, excreting various waste products. For this reason, good nutrition is essential, as an excess of stored toxins will cause skin disorders.
The skin is also very important in aromatherapy, as it is one of the two routes by which the essential oils can enter into the bloodstream and be transported to all the cells in the body. Essential oils have a relatively small molecular structure, and can pass through the skin easily. The second route is via the lungs (with inhalation), and, therefore, it is advisable to take 3 deep breaths from the bottle before pouring the oil into the bath or, alternatively, breathe the oils in while relaxing in the bath.
Aromatic bath oil will do much more than nourish and rejuvenate the skin. The oils have cell-regenerating properties as well as being calming, soothing, therapeutic, and emotionally uplifting. It will treat conditions of mental and muscle fatigue, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, depression, stress, and many other imbalances.
The pleasant perfume of the oils is luxurious and attractive. Either way it is a wonderful start or finish to any day. It is further recommended that after the 10-minute soak any additional oil in the bath should be rubbed into the skin.
